As many of you know, my husband and I are involved with a team that will be traveling to Thailand next month to help with organizations that are working to fight human trafficking. We’ve been hard at work fundraising for our trip. Not only are we raising money for the travel expenses, but also to take monetary gifts to these organizations as a blessing. Luckily, we’ve had some pretty successful fundraising events so far. One of our team members has been involved with car shows and suggested we put one on. So….THIS WEEKEND we are doing just that. To advertise and recruit for the event, we visited the biggest annual car show in Amarillo last month.
Check out the bar stools on the back of this trailer with the icebox:
I really had no idea how inspired I would be by all the cars!
I was completely blown away by the details in design. Check out these luggage racks:
How about these windshields?
Look at those tail lights! I love how that orange stripe goes into the inside of the door.
Check out this awesome upholstery! And the antennas!? How crazy is that?
This guy found an old farm truck and refurbished it with random parts from various vehicles. I love how much attention he gave to the whole “scene”:
And my favorite from the day: A sweet little Thunderbird:
I am super excited about the car show we are putting on this weekend. Not only are the entrants enthused about showing off their cars, they’re even more excited to be helping with the cause. If you happen to be in Amarillo, come have fun with your family! There will be a huge garage sale, raffle prizes, chair massages, food, music, face painting, balloon animals….and the list goes on.
If you’re not in the Texas panhandle this weekend, maybe there’s a car show in your area. If the opportunity arises, you should check it out. You might just be surprised at how fun it can be.
What kind of fundraisers have you been involved in that turned out to be a blast?
