Just a little taste of what Amarillo, TX looks like as Spring approaches.  Let me introduce you to the Redbud:

One of the first trees to bloom in early spring, the redbud (Cercis canadensis) displays a showy profusion of small, pink to purplish flowers born in clusters over the entire tree, including the branches and trunk.

Blooms are followed by long, flat seedpods, showing that they are in the pea family. The leaves, which wait to appear until the floral show is over, are heart shaped, and often turn yellow in the fall.

It usually take 75 years for the tree to mature.

What are the signs of Spring in YOUR neck of the woods?
