Car Show Fundraiser

As promised previously, today I am sharing some photos from our first annual car show fundraiser.  As many of you know, I am on a team that will be traveling to Pattaya, Thailand in a few weeks to assist several organizations that are helping to fight the human trafficking epidemic there.  A car show was suggested by one of our team members as a fundraiser (the entrants pay a fee to show their car).  We decided to have a garage sale to generate more funds and to give the car show enthusiasts another fun thing to do!

We had classic cars…

mustang_carshowWe had some in the category of “rat”…

This guy went all out with his bug.  He had a “zombie” theme, complete with interior paying homage to The Walking Dead.

Check out this old-school fast ride (I should know-I got a ride up the street in it at the end of the day!)

vintage_fordI love this old Buick.  The headlights detach and work as mobile kerosene lanterns, and the wheel wells are wooden!

We even had some really fast and really big newer vehicles enter the show:

And the kids were loving the face-painting and balloon animals!

And the winners:

We also had free chair massages, information tables with local human trafficking prevention teams, live music, art raffle,  food and free giveaways.  Although the weather was cold and it was our first car show, we had an awesome day and everyone had a ton of fun.  Thanks to some local volunteers, we were cleaned up and home within 2 hours.  THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THE DAY A SUCCESS!  Our team raised $3000 that day!
