Exposures: Breaking Bread

There’s a little story that goes with today’s Exposures photo.

Back in 2002,  Matt & I  and another couple went to NYC together.  We stayed with a friend in the Williamsburg area, who happened to live across the street from a bread factory.  The day we left, she suggested we go check out the dumpster for food.  To our surprise, there were perfectly good loaves of bread (in bags) discarded in the dumpster.  Yeah, we took it.  And yeah, we took the loaves as our carry-ons.  And yeah, we happily shared them with our aisle-mates on the plane.  And no, we didn’t tell them where we got it Instead, we broke bread together and gushed about how good the olive loaf was.
