High Road to Taos

Spring has sprung (officially yesterday) and our lives begin to stir once again.  We took a road trip to one of our favorite places (New Mexico) a few weeks ago to celebrate my birthday.  Let me tell you- Taos really does lie smack dab in the middle of the Land of Enchantment.  The mountains, trees, rocks, snow, water, skies…It always amazes and offers new insights each time we visit.  This time did not disappoint!

We hit the ground running upon our return from the mountain retreat, and I haven’t had much time for photo sharing.  Here are a couple of favorites of the High Road to Taosthe route we took on the way from Santa Fe to Taos.  I was a bit gloomy, as sporadic snowfall was predicted for the first few days of our vacation.  I  will be dedicating a future post to the El Santuario de Chimayo, (you can now read it here) which we randomly decided to check out after passing a sign and me saying, “Hey-I think that’s the place I read about in the New Mexico magazine we picked up back at the rest stop.”  It was the best thing about the high road to Taos, in our opinion.  But the old chapels and cemeteries were pretty enchanting too!
